Aaron Pestel manages Red Hat Middleware activities across the IC.  He has over 10 years of software development, architecture, and project management experience, primarily in the public sector. Aaron joined Red Hat in July of 2008 from BEA Systems, where he was a Senior Federal Systems Engineer from 2007-2008. Prior to joining BEA Systems, he worked in development, architecture, and project management roles at Raytheon.

 
 

Adam Fuchs

Adam Fuchs is one of the founders of the Apache Accumulo project, and has been responsible for a large portion of the design surrounding advanced usage of iterators, including the IntersectingIterator that forms the foundation for Accumulo's generic information retrieval example, WikiSearch. Mr. Fuchs has been with NSA since 2003, and since then he has devoted his time to improving the agency's infrastructure for analysis of big data. Mr. Fuchs also has a strong interest in advocating for the use of and participation in the open-source community by the US Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. Mr. Fuchs graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle, with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Computer Science in 2003. He and his wife are now digesting the published research in the field of parenting, as their first child was born in February.

 
 

Adam Morgan

Adam Morgan heads up National Defense and Intelligence efforts for SUSE North America, a Linux focused independent business unit of the Attachmate Group. His previous work includes corporate and federally focused hardware and software initiatives including MIL grade rugged systems development, enterprise risk management architectures, and force management at the Army Chief of Staff level. A Systems Engineer, Adam graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, was an Infantry Officers and has worked for L-3 Communications, Quantum Research International, and NCS Technologies.  Adam lives in the DC area with his wife and four children… all of whom he has successfully made into Linux converts.

 
 

AJ Jaghori

Chief Innovation Officer, Open Source Software Institute


AJ-Press_ImageAJ Jaghori serves as the Chief Innovation Officer for the Open Source Software Institute.  His prior posting was as the CTO of Mobile Technologies at L-3 Communications STRATIS where he built enterprise mobility products for the government. He serves as Executive Council on the Board of Directors at The Open Source Software Institute and is a Mentor at Google (Summer of Code). Previously, Mr. Jaghori founded Cambridge, MA based startup The Social Genome Project, GenSomatic (D.C.), and IPcerts (San Francisco). He has also served in leadership roles at Verizon, Google, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Jaghori had a 3 year tenure as a Technical Instructor at the Cisco Networking Academy. He was involved in early stage development of the Android mobile operating system and has led the development of more than 50 Mobile "Apps" to date. He is a frequent keynote speaker in mobile, social media, and data networking forums. He is also an active figure in the bi-coastal startup communities and a member of the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. Jaghori has received numerous technology accolades and continues to surge as an elite technologist. In July 2011, Computer World Magazine called him a "new hero" and said that his "transformational" social media application, iLiger, "may very well create the next social wave. AJ lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and son.

Former Chief Information Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency

Alan Wade retired from federal service at the end of 2005 after a thirty-five year career in the Central Intelligence Agency. He retired as the Chief Information Officer, a position he held since 2001.
